Emilio Alzamora Says Marc Marquez Showed How Smart He Is

Emilio Alzamora, the mentor and manager of Marc Marquez, was extremely pleased with the performance of the Spanish rider on Sunday, October 12, in Japan. Alzamora said that Marc was able to secure the title with his intelligence as he just focused on Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi.

Though, Marquez was hungry for a victory in Japan, as he failed to do well in the last race in Aragon, but he managed to keep himself calm. And rode methodically to seize the second position and required points in order to become the first ever rider to win a title at its employer’s home territory.

Alzamora, who always remain cautious in his actions and comments, divulged on this occasion that he had given some advice to Marquez before the race in Motegi. He said that though Marc is now quite experienced, but he always gives him some tips. But in Japan he knew what has to be done.

He needs to focus well in the warm round, gain good rhythm and remain calm during the race, said Alzamora. Also, he needed to focus on Rossi and Dani instead of Jorge and that’s what he did, said Emilio.

After winning the title Marquez said that he did feel the pressure though his fans may not have felt that because he remain happy and smiling all the time. Reflecting on this comment Alzamora said that feeling pressure was natural because the race was taking place at Honda’s very own territory.

Furthermore, Marquez has committed mistakes in Misano and Aragon, said Emilio. According to Alzamora, Marquez failed to attack in the first part of the race as he would have liked, which made the situation more difficult for him, but he showed how smart he is.

Emilio said that it was a significant day for the entire team of Honda and Repsol and every other person who backs Marquez. He also reflected that this championship was incredible and Marquez will be having a big party with his friends and brother to celebrate the occasion.
Although, the title has been already secured by Marc, but there is a tough competition for the second, third and fourth place in the MotoGP championship. Given that second positioned Rossi and third positioned Dani have earned similar points (230) so far. Whilst Motegi race winner Lorenzo is also not too far away from them, as he sits at number four position with 227 points.

This means that next three rounds are going to be full of action, as these three riders will do their best to stay ahead of other. One cannot rule out Marc from the competition after clinching the title, as Motegi was the second consecutive race where he did not finish first.
So Marquez will definitely look to win the next one in Australia and hopefully, you may once again see him racing in his traditional high risk style.
