Rossi Admits He is Not as Young as He was 10 Years Ago

The 35-year old Valentino Rossi has admitted in a recent interview that he is not that young as he was 10 years ago. However, he was certain that he definitely is capable to fight at the front of the premier class field and that’s why he had extended his contract with Movistar Yamaha MotoGP till 2016. As a result of this new agreement, Rossi has got the chance to take part in the 20th and 21st World Championship seasons over a period of next two years.

Sharing his thoughts in the latest episode of After the Flag Rossi acknowledged that without a doubt that when he was 25 years old ten years ago things were different. However, in the last few years he have not felt any difference, said Valentino. The doctor said that the reason behind it is that if your body is fine and you are training hard and particularly if you have the right enthusiasm then, a person can surely become a top performer in their sport for some years. He also said that with the passage of time you gain some advantages such as experience and how to remain quiet during a race. Also, with age you realize that how everything can change just after a race.

Talking about last season, Rossi said that he was bit upset over his performance during last year as he was not able to improve his speed much to fight for the rostrum in every round. After which he decided to make a change said, the seven-time MotoGP World Champion. Certainly it was big risk, but now he is happy and enjoying a lot during this season, as he is able to be more competitive and stronger than before, said Valentino. Yet, Rossi believe that he needs to do lot of work as the level of competition is quite high, particularly when you talk about Marc Marquez, but Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa are also pretty swift.

Rossi said that he really enjoy this life and work. He added that he wants to stay in the game and does not want to think much about the past. Valentino also said that he is extremely lucky to have such a great career during which he had made many achievements, but he believes that if you want to be a part of a sport than you need to focus on the future. He said that he wanted to race in MotoGP so he signed a two-year deal and now he will look to give more than 100 percent in this phase of his career.
