Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow Renews Their Contract with Ducati

The MotoGP Ducati team made not just one but two headlines on Saturday, July 19th. First, when the CEO of the Italian motorcycle making company Claudio Domenicali made it known on Saturday morning that they have renewed contract with Andrea Dovizioso. The executive of the company also made announced on this occasion that they have signed Dovizioso for the next two years. As a result, now Dovizioso will remain with Ducati till the end of 2016 MotoGP season. Claudio made this declaration in front of Ducati fans at the World Ducati Week festival.

Then, shortly after that Cal Crutchlow, who recently had a surgical treatment on both his forearms, attended a press meeting along with Corse General Manager of Ducati Luigi Dall'Igna and Project Director of MotoGP Paolo Ciabatti at the World Ducati Week 2014. The 28-year old British rider put a full stop at the end of all the rumours, which were suggesting that he could sign with another team, when he said at the conference that he is staying with Ducati till 2015. With this announcement, Ducati has now confirmed its squad at least for the next season of the Grand Prix.

Both the riders were very jubilant over the renewal of their contract, as Dovizioso said in statement that they have managed to struck a deal because it’s an exciting project and it has started to bore fruit since Dall’Igna has arrived. He also said that they had already managed to reach the podium twice during this season and have seized the fourth spot in the World Championship too. Adding to it, Dovizioso said that current situation is pretty thrilling, particularly considering the 2015 plans.

On the other hand, addressing the press Crutchlow said that Andrea is having a fantastic season but they need to continue the hard work in the second half of the championship too. He also said he is sure that people at the factory in Italy were also working hard. The British rider hopes that they will continue to bridge the gap with the front riders. Although, Marc Marquez seems to have come from out of this world, but AndreaIannone has managed to outclass him in the past, said Cal.

On this occasion Iannone said that the encouraging results of the first half of the season gave them the encouragement to continue hard work in the second half of the year as well. He also said that though he is still young but he is Ducati rider and want to stick with the team till the end of his MotoGP career.
