Remembering Mike Hailwood, an All-Time Great Motorcycle Racer

Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood also known as Mike Hailwood and Mike “The Bike” was a prominent British Grand Prix motorbike racer of 1950s and 60s. He had made some remarkable achievements in his motorcycle racing career which have put his name in the record books forever. Mike “The Bike” is one of the all-time best racers in the world and he achieved this status because of his natural ability to ride the bikes. Hailwood is also one of the very few people, who had competed in both car and motorcycle racing at the Grand Prix level.
He died in a road accident at the age of 40 in Warwickshire, England. In his 9-year long motorcycle racing career Hailwood had achieved numerous successes. To be exact, he made 152 starts, won 76 races and reached the podium on 112 occasions. Before Marc Marquez, Mike was the youngest racer ever who managed to defend Grand Prix title in two wheels class. Now to cherish his amazing life, a special event is going to take place on this Saturday, October 18th and it is called ‘A Night About Mike Hailwood’.
The event will be held at Bengeworth Church House, Broadway Road, Evesham, Worcs. W11 3NB. Arr. It will begin at 8:00pm and come to an end at 10:00pm, as there will be a half hour break in the middle. During the event visitors will get to hear detailed lectures on personal life and career of Mike “The Bike”. That will be interspersed with film clips, stories, slides and lot more. The attendees will also get to see the Famous Honda 500 4 RC181 motorcycle of Hailwood at the event along with several other personal memorabilia.

Besides this, Mike’s son, David will also be there to answer all your questions regarding his father in a 45 minute long Q&A session. Also, David will be the host of the evening.
