Valentino Rossi Wins 2014 Australian Grand Prix as Marc Marquez Crashes His Bike

Valentino Rossi wins the dramatic the 2014 Australian Grand Prix on Sunday, October 19th in Philip Island to register his 108 victory in motorcycle racing and 82nd in premier class. This must have been a memorable victory for Rossi as the race in Philip Island was his 250th appearance in MotoGP racing. Also, it was the first time after the 2008 race in Le Mans that fans get to see an all Yamaha rostrum, as Rossi’s teammate Jorge Lorenzo finished second. Whereas, Bradley Smith of Monster Yamaha Tech3 crossed the finish line in third place and reached the podium for the first time during this season.

Both Valentino and Jorge were lucky to secure first and second position in the race. Given that Rossi made his fortune after the double MotoGP title winner Marc Marquez lost his front and crashed out of the competition. Whereas, Jorge was led by British rider Cal Crutchlow at one stage during the race it looked as if he would be able to secure the second position. However, alike Marc, Crutchlow too failed to maintain his advantage and slide off the track in the final stages of the competition.

Marquez and Cal were not the only two riders, who failed to finish the race, as seven other riders either crashed or failed to cross the finish line. Most of these riders were frontrunners, but it favoured Smith greatly as he managed to reach the rostrum. Ducati Team’s Andrea Dovizioso was the fourth best rider in the race, whereas Avintia Racing’s Hector Barbera was the fifth racer to cross the finish line. This was Barbera’s best performance in the premier class racing so far.

GO&FUN Honda Gresini’s Alvaro Bautista also showed his performance of the season in the race, as he crossed the chequered flag in sixth place. Bautista’s partner Scott Redding was not too far from him, as he finished seventh. Drive M7 Aspar’s Hiroshi Aoyama, NGM Forward Racing’s Alex de Angelis and Drive M7 Aspar’s star rider Nicky Hayden also managed to finish the Philip Islan race inside the top ten.

The Australian Grand Prix was an opportunity for Marquez to equal Mick Doohan’s 1997 record winning the most races in a single season of premier class. Especially, after he secured the title back in Japan at last weekend. Unfortunately, the Repsol Honda rider could not maintain the advantage after he outstripped Lorenzo and then Rossi to take the lead.

British racer Crutchlow also looked in belligerent mood on Sunday, as he outshined Japanese Grand Prix winner Lorenzo during the race and got hold of the second place. But he also lost the front of his Ducati when five laps were left in the race. However, it was Cardion AB Motoracing’s Karel Abraham, who was the first faller of the day. Then, it was Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone who went down, but he did not fell alone. Iannone took Dani Pedrosa with him, when the front of his bike came into contact with Repsol Honda rider’s bike.

LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl also had a similar experience as his bike brushed against the rear of Aleix Espargaro’s machine. Paul Bird Motorsport’s Broc Parks also failed to finish the race as he never returned from the pits. Monster Yamaha Tech 3’s Pol Espargaro was not as lucky as its other rider was, as he too lost his front while chasing Lorenzo.

Jorge Lorenzo Sets the Best Time in Friday’s Practice at Phillip Island Despite Crash

The MotoGP FP session at Phillip Island, Australia on Friday, October 17th belonged to Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo, who set the best time despite crashing in the afternoon session. The newly World Champion Marc Marquez and Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone were the other two riders, who set the best pace in a chaotic day after Lorenzo. Given that Iannone too suffered a crash during the Free Practice 2. The Misano race winner Valentino Rossi was not able to show his true skills in this session, as he set the fifth best time during the practice.

In contrast, Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati showed better performance and set the fourth best time during the day. Aleix Espargaro of NGM Forward Racing also managed to end the session well by finishing inside the top six. The top ten was rounded by Ducati Team’s Cal Crutchlow, Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Pol Espargaro, Energy T.I. Pramac Racing’s Yonny Hernandez and Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa.

It seems that by setting the fastest time in Australia, Lorenzo has validated his teammate’s doubt. Rossi, who is tied on the points table with Pedorsa for the runner-up position, had said a few days ago that it’s Jorge who is the real threat for him. The Doctor said so because Lorenzo has won the last two Grand Prix and now he is just three points behind Rossi and Dani in the overall standings.

Valentino said in Japan that the second place contest is between him, Lorenzo and Pedrosa and he is anxious because his teammate is quite fast. He also said that though he love the circuits in Philip Island and Sepang, but competing in back to back three races is very difficult. In such case, a good start is very crucial, said the Yamaha rider.

So if Lorenzo carries on with the same momentum in Sunday’s race at Philip Island, it is quite likely that he may notch the runner-up position from Dani and Rossi. The two riders will already be feeling the heat as they did not do too well in Friday’s practice session. Still one cannot completely rule Dani and Rossi out of the contest. The two premier class racers had managed to end up on the podium in spite of not doing so well in the practice sessions.

Besides Rossi and Dani, the double premier class world champion Marquez can also give a tough fight to Lorenzo, Rossi and Dani. In spite of the fact that he has already seized the title and now he is looking to have more fun. So keep your fingers crossed and wait for another exciting round of the 2014 MotoGP season. Top MotoGP riders Marc Marquez, Bradley Smith, Jorge Lorenzo and Andrea Dovizioso have arrived in Australia and they are looking forward to take part in the Australian Grand Prix. Addressing the media in a pre-race press meeting on Thursday, October 16 the four riders shared their views regarding the next round.

First to go was the newly crowned MotoGP World Champion Marquez, who said that he is feeling great, as there is less pressure and restrictions on him now. The two-time MotoGP World Champion also said that though the title has been secured and one gets tired after doing everything, but yes you still can enjoy a lot after becoming a champion and his confidence is quite high.

Adding to it, Marc said that he celebrated with his team on last Sunday night, first he had a dinner with the Japanese staff then with his team only. Talking about the track in Australia, Marquez said that Philip Island is an exceptional place and the circuit in it is one of the best venues he has ever come across. And he loves to ride in this circuit, said Marquez.

The Japanese Grand Prix winner and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP rider Jorge Lorenzo was also excited about the venue, as he said that there is always pressure on him when he comes to this place. He said that it’s not just Philip Island where he feels the pressure, it happens when he arrives in this wonderful country. Lorenzo also said that he loves Melbourne, Sydney and outskirts of Phillip Island and it is his favourite place where they have come to.

Talking about his current form, Jorge commented that all they need to do is to put all the pieces of puzzles together. According to him that now they are strong and competitive than ever before. The Yamaha rider admitted on this occasion that’s it’s not easy to win races one after the other, as there are four great riders who are in good shape. But their level is quite high, said Lorenzo.

Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati Team, who achieved his first pole position at Motegi in this season, said that he is very happy because of the pole position as it was very special. He said that the weekend in Japan was good, as they were swift in every practice. Andrea also said that they are getting closer and closer with every round, as they were with the front group in the early stages of the race in Motegi.

Explaining further, Dovizioso said that they need to concentrate on positive things as last year they were quite behind, but this year they are not too far away from the podium. The Ducati rider said that he is quite excited about next year’s project. He revealed that they had tested at Philip Island during last year in winters and the difference between his lap time and fastest rider time very minor.

British rider Smith, who finished ninth in the last race, said at the conference that they achieved a respectable position in Motegi, as among satellite bikes they were at third position. Bradley said that overall he is happy with last weekend’s result.

Shedding light on his second season in the premier class racing, Smith said that though their position in the championship does not look good but at times charts does not tell you the entire truth. He said that their performance was better than last year, but some of the riders in the class have taken the championship to another level this year and they need to keep up with them. He also said that though he is happy with M1, but still there are few techniques which he will continue to absorb.

Emilio Alzamora Says Marc Marquez Showed How Smart He Is

Emilio Alzamora, the mentor and manager of Marc Marquez, was extremely pleased with the performance of the Spanish rider on Sunday, October 12, in Japan. Alzamora said that Marc was able to secure the title with his intelligence as he just focused on Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi.

Though, Marquez was hungry for a victory in Japan, as he failed to do well in the last race in Aragon, but he managed to keep himself calm. And rode methodically to seize the second position and required points in order to become the first ever rider to win a title at its employer’s home territory.

Alzamora, who always remain cautious in his actions and comments, divulged on this occasion that he had given some advice to Marquez before the race in Motegi. He said that though Marc is now quite experienced, but he always gives him some tips. But in Japan he knew what has to be done.

He needs to focus well in the warm round, gain good rhythm and remain calm during the race, said Alzamora. Also, he needed to focus on Rossi and Dani instead of Jorge and that’s what he did, said Emilio.

After winning the title Marquez said that he did feel the pressure though his fans may not have felt that because he remain happy and smiling all the time. Reflecting on this comment Alzamora said that feeling pressure was natural because the race was taking place at Honda’s very own territory.

Furthermore, Marquez has committed mistakes in Misano and Aragon, said Emilio. According to Alzamora, Marquez failed to attack in the first part of the race as he would have liked, which made the situation more difficult for him, but he showed how smart he is.

Emilio said that it was a significant day for the entire team of Honda and Repsol and every other person who backs Marquez. He also reflected that this championship was incredible and Marquez will be having a big party with his friends and brother to celebrate the occasion.
Although, the title has been already secured by Marc, but there is a tough competition for the second, third and fourth place in the MotoGP championship. Given that second positioned Rossi and third positioned Dani have earned similar points (230) so far. Whilst Motegi race winner Lorenzo is also not too far away from them, as he sits at number four position with 227 points.

This means that next three rounds are going to be full of action, as these three riders will do their best to stay ahead of other. One cannot rule out Marc from the competition after clinching the title, as Motegi was the second consecutive race where he did not finish first.
So Marquez will definitely look to win the next one in Australia and hopefully, you may once again see him racing in his traditional high risk style. Till then, browse through the wide range of motorcycle clothing and accessories at J&S Accessories’ online store and buy a high quality product at best price.

Marc Marquez Successfully Defends The Tittle as Jorge Lorenzo Wins Japanese Grand Prix

Marc Marquez wrote a new chapter in the record books on Sunday, October 12 when he won the MotoGP World Championship title for the second consecutive time. Unfortunately, Marquez finished the race in second, as Movistar Yamaha MotoGP Jorge Lorenzo won the Motegi race. Still it was a splendid performance from Marquez, as not only he finished second, but crossed the chequered flag before Dani Pedrosa and Valentino Rossi to defend the 2014 title successfully.

More importantly to achieve this task, Marquez had to put his emblem high-risk style aside, as after dropping down to sixth place in the early stage. The young Spanirad did not panic instead he adapted a more clinical approach and swiftly made his way up. The Repsol Honda rider first outstripped his teammate Pedrosa and then Andrea Dovizioso of Ducati before engaging in a brief skirmish with Rossi. Afterwards there was no looking back for Marquez.

Marquez said after the race that it was incredible and he cannot explain his feelings in words, for him it’s more like a dream. The jubilant rider said that it’s been just two years that he moved into MotoGP and already he has won two titles, which is unbelievable for him.

Marc also said on this occasion that his fans may feel that it was easy for me, as he always remain happy and smiling, but for him it was pretty tough, as he felt the pressure, particularly after committing mistakes in Misano and Aragon.

Marc also revealed that since it was important for Honda to win at its home track therefore he just focused on winning the title rather than winning the race. He said that he is pleased with his fans, team and family members, who has always pushed him.

The second place in the race gave Marquez (312 points) enough numbers in the overall standings to claim his second premier class title in a row. The terrific thing about this feat is that Marquez has done so at the age of just 21 years. So Marc has broken the 1962/63 record of Mike Hailwood, as he is now the youngest rider ever who has successfully defended a premier class title in two wheels category.

It was not the only record which Marquez made on Sunday. He has also became the first ever rider in any class, who has won the world championship title at its employer’s (Honda) home track. Indeed Marc has driven himself into the record books at the end of weekend, as he has achieved so much in very short time. Still there are three rounds to go in this season, but it seems nearly impossible for any rider to surpass Marquez in the charts.

The Spanish rider is comfortably sitting at number one position with 312 points. Whilst, Rossi has snatched second place Pedrosa, who is now at number three, but their points are same 230. On the other hand, the Japanese Grand Prix winner Lorenzo is at fourth place with 227 points. This means that MotoGP should get ready to see some fierce racing in last three rounds of the 2014 season. As all three riders will do their best to make a place in the top three.

So keep looking forward to more updates at J&S Accessories’ blog. Till then avail various money saving deals on motorcycle clothing and accessories while shopping from the online store of J&S Accessories.

Pramac Racing Confirms Danilo Petrucci for 2015 and 2016 Season

With just four rounds to go in the 2014 season, a number of teams in MotoGP are still looking to sign riders for next season. Pramac Racing was among these teams, as its star rider Andrea Iannone decided to part ways with his team. However, Pramac Racing did not waste much time in signing up a new rider after Iannone. The MotoGP has made it known on Wednesday, October 1st that it has acquired the services of Danilo Petrucci for next two seasons (2015 and 2016).
Petrucci, whose best ride during the 2014 season was in Aragon where he finished 11th in the race, will ride the Ducati machine of Pramac Racing along with Yonny Hernandez from 2015. Currently, the Italian rider is with Octo IodaRacing Team, but he failed to show his true skills with the side as he is sitting at 20th position in the overall standings.

It seems that the 23-year old rider has not fully recovered from the wrist fracture which he had suffered during a crash in Jerez. However, now Danilo has got a golden opportunity to race with a top MotoGP team from 2015 and it is anticipated that he will do his best to produce good results in the next season.
Talking about the agreement, Petrucci said that he is extremely glad that he has signed the deal with Pramac Racing. That is a team which he thinks has greatly promoted young riders and help them develop their riding, said Danilo. The Octo IodaRacing Team rider also said on this occasion that he is very proud and excited because he is getting an opportunity to ride Ducati machine.

A charged Danilo said that he will give his best to make the most of this opportunity and he would like to thank Pramac for providing this chance to him. Pretrucci did not forget to thank his current team chief Giampiero Sacchi on this occasion, as he said that he is thankful to him for giving the chance to compete in the premier class racing.

Suzuki Confirms Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales as its Riders for 2015 MotoGP Campaign

We all knew that Suzuki Motor Corporation has decided to jump back in the MotoGP class from 2015, but we did not know that it has finalized the two riders for its team. Yes that’s right! Suzuki has announced the name of the two riders, who will lead it in the premier class racing. Aleix Espargaro and Maverick Viñales are the two riders, who have secured a contract with the team. The two Spanish riders will now ride Suzuki’s MotoGP machinei in 2015.

On this occasion Suzuki also revealed its brand new MotoGP bike along with team structure. Davide Brivio, who was the test team manager of Suzuki, has cemented his place and now he will spearhead the side along with Espargaro and Viñales.

Currently, Espargaro is engaged with NGM Forward Racing in the MotoGP world championship, where he is enjoying number six position in the overall standings. On the other hand, Viñales, who had won the 2013 Moto3 world championship, is now participating in Moto2 where he is sitting at number three position at the moment.

However, before taking part in the 2015 MotoGP season, we will see Suzuki participating in the last race of 2014 season. Thanks to a wildcard entry that has allowed the Suzuki team to take part in the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana.

By re-joining MotoGP, Suzuki is looking to develop more attractive and better products for its customers through technical feedback. It will also help the company to improve its brand image. Suzuki is coming back to MotoGP after a break of two years, as it has temporarily suspended itself from participating in the premier class racing from 2012.

However, the Japanese firm carried on with the development of its machines so it could attain high performance in the premier class racing. The company also continued the development as it wanted to give feedback on technology to the models that are under production like GSX-R series. So it could produce high speed and maneuverable machines.

But we will get to know how fast and maneuverable Suzuki’s MotoGP machine is when it will join the grid with its rivals in the last race of this season. Until then, you can browse through the latest collection of motorcycle helmets, clothing and accessories at the online store of J&S Accessories. 0
