Marc Marquez Wins Seventh MotoGP Race in a Row

In spite of crashing his bike in Saturday's QP session, the defending Moto GP World Champion and Repsol Honda Team’s rider Marc Marquez was able to win seventh race in a row on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Catalunya, Spain. However, the victory did not come that easy for Marc this time, as Spanish Moto GP fans get to see some intense battles between Marquez, Movistar Yamaha Moto GP’s Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda’s other rider Dani Pedrosa. The 21-year old Spaniard first had to deal with Rossi during the initial laps and then, his teammate Predrosa made an aggressive charge on him in the final two laps. Nevertheless, Marc managed to survive both the attacks and crossed the chequered flag to win his first premier class race in front of home crowd.

While Rossi finished second, as he clinched the lead from Pedrosa in the final lap and gained some valuable points (117) for his team. On the other hand, result was little disappointing for the Honda rider, as at one time he was looking to finish second but Valentino spoiled his party by outshining him in the last moment. As a result, Pedrosa failed to improve his position in the overall standings because he still sits behind Marc and Rossi at third position with 112 points. In contrast to Predrosa, Marquez tallied a perfect 175 points to make his lead in the standings even more convincing.

The best part about his victory was that Marc was able to become only the second to win seven straight races in Moto GP after Rossi, who achieved this record back in 2002. Above all, Marquez led Honda to its 100th victory in Moto GP and with it he also managed to reach his 62nd podium. On this occasion, the youngest Moto GP champion said while talking to BT sport that it feels so great to win in front of his home crowd. The rider also said that the race was pretty special for him, as he made a great comeback in the last laps after he was close to collide with Valentino in the early laps. He said it he felt strong and it was a great fight with Valentino first and then with Pedrosa.

Rossi also shared his thoughts after the race in Catalunya, as he said that he is very pleased with the result considering the fact that they modified his machine overnight and yet it worked well in the competition. Valentino also said that he did not make any mistakes during the race and the bike ran smoothly, in fact, at one point he thought he would win but in the last laps Honda proved too fast for him. Yet he fought well and therefore he is satisfied with the end result, said the seven-time Moto GP world champion.

Valentino deserves to be happy, as Pedrosa admitted that Rossi stunned him with his pace in the last lap. In spite of it, Dani believe that it was an enthralling battle between him, Rossi and Marc, as first he and Marquez exchanged leads before his teammate finally left him before when four laps were left in the race. Pedrosa said that the race was more about performance rather than points that is why he does not care whether it was 16 or 25 points.

Besides riders the weather in Montmelo was also looking bit aggressive as the last laps in the competition were run under lighting and thunder, as officials declined to stop the race. Just as J&S Accessories has declined to stop spoiling its customers with an exotic range of motorcycle clothing and accessories.
